This is my very first review for, well, anything. I read reviews here on Amazon avidly, and they help my buying decisions, but I have never felt strongly enough about a product to spend the time to review it. However, after reading this book, I thought I'd see what others thought of it, and cannot believe what I have read here.
Based on the evidence of this book, Mr Greanias does not appear to be a "talented thriller author" by any stretch of the imagination. He appears to write like a child - the book is all action and no substance. But even the action scenes are hurried - take the inital dive scene, where the hero is exploring a wreck, and then the bad guys turn up. It's presented with no more fanfare or flair than what I have just written. He's swimming around, then the bad guys turn up. There's a poorly described fight, and that's it. All very perfunctory and by-the-by. This style continues throughout the book, and after just a few pages you're simply waiting for it to end. It's only saving grace is that it does this in very short order.
I bought this for a pound in a charity shop, and read it in a day. I don't begrudge the pound - the charity gets it rather than the author. But that is a day of my life I will never get back.
Please avoid this purile rubbish.
