Book Description

Awesome Man is a pretty cool superhero. Along with Moskowitz, his Awesome Dog, he can shoot positronic rays out of his eyeballs, fly straight as an arrow, and hug mutant Jell-O! Even villains like Professor Von Evil and The Flaming Eyeball are no match for this caped hero.

But Awesome Man also has a secret identity-can you guess what it is?

Michael Chabon, one of America′s most beloved and bestselling novelists, has written his very first picture book-a funny and surprising romp that will instantly appeal to his multitude of rabid fans and their young children.

Review

"The depiction of a showdown between Awesome Man and his nemesis--the Flaming Eyeball--is priceless. Readers may notice that there's a moral peeking out from Awesome Man's cape, but they'll still grab this story in their 'ginormous Awesome Power Grip' and not let go."--School Library Journal (starred review)

5.0 out of 5 stars Both astonishing and awesome 29 Nov. 2012

You can judge a book by its cover. Borrowed this from the library for our kids and loved it so much we bought a copy for my niece and nephew. Beautifully illustrated, and written with such energetic and exciting language, the kids were all transfixed. Has introduced the word positronic into the everyday vocabulary of 4 very happy under 5s.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! 24 Sept. 2012

A fantastic read for children of all ages. The pictures are great and the language is complicated enough to keep an older child interested. My 3 year old loves it but I bet an 8 year old would like it even more!
