An excellent read 2 Jan 2004
Format:Paperback
Having suffered from depression I was looking for a new way to look at life. This is the first self-help type book I bought, and it resonated with me. I have read it twice and still look through it when Im feeling a little down. It starts with the reasons we may find life hard, and goes into ways of making them easier by meditation (relaxation), visualisations and adopting the ethos that things happen for a reason even if we dont understand why at that moment. I found the book insightful and have adopted many of the practices laid out in the text, and it really is helping.

A wonderful book. It introduced to me the concept that life really wasn't meant to be a struggle, filled with stress and anxiety. Living with stress become the accepted norm in modern society, and to read the authors own story is truly inspirational. The book led me on a path to taking Alexander Technique lessons which in themselves were a revelation in undoing the stresses that have built up in our bodies - physical, mental they are all mixed up in one mind/body medley. The `less is more' approach is so poignant for me and the author explains a number of ways in which we can make our lives effortless, the way we were created until the 20th and 21st century taught us otherwise. Its a few years since I read it but I always refer back to it.

This book is more than a self help book - more of a non religious bible! It is so easy to read and written so everyone who reads it can relate to every subject in their lives and want to change too.

I have read alot of self help books but this one is by far the best one out there so.... buy it now!
