Product Description

A new, easy way to create your own computerized "slide shows"

You can now drastically simplify lesson preparation with The Art of MBoC(3), a CD-ROM program that puts into your computer the 1,200 illustrations from Molecular Biology of the Cell. No more juggling acts with stacks of slides and transparencies. No more cleaning of marked-on transparencies. No more struggles with the pointer. Now you can sit at your computer and create as many different slide shows as you need -- just by clicking on the mouse. What's more, you can draw directly on the artwork in five colors, add your own commentary, supplement captions or substitute your own. In short, you have complete freedom to organize your classroom visual material as you see fit, with an absolute minimum of fuss and bother.

There is a benefit to your students, too. They can follow your lecture without having to hunt down the appropriate illustration in their textbook while you are speaking.
-- Unlimited capability for creating customized slide presentations
-- Allows the addition of art from other sources
-- Enables you to elaborate on, edit, or substitute captions
-- Gives you the ability to make your marks on the slide images in five colors
-- Makes last-minute changes practically effortless
-- Presentation can be displayed via an LCD panel, large screen projector, data projector, or a computer

I am a biochemistry student in mainland China. I have long wanted to have this book, but unfortunately the book is not available in China. Last month, my friend who is a Canadian citizen bought this book in North America and gave it to me as a present. I was greatly delighted. This is the best molecular and cell biology textbook I have ever read. And I have spent many pleasurable hours reading this wonderful book.

I am an undergraduate biology major. I don't usually wax
this enthusiastic over a textbook, but this one held my
interest like no other text. Call me strange, but I just
couldn't put it down! I found I couldn't take it to work to
read during down time, because I'd become oblivious to my
surroundings.

That said, this is not the book to start with if you just
want to learn a little about biology. It does presume a
certain base of knowledge.

This book is the bible of cell biology. I continually find it to be well written, very thorough and extremely well illustrated. I am a PhD student in physiology and would consider this book to be one of the most indispensible books in my library. In fact, this is one of the few books I will pull off the shelf, open to some random page and just read.
