Format: Kindle Edition
The second book in the Gravedigger Chronicles (with the first being Sea of Ghosts) and to be honest I wasn't quite sure what I was going to get as its been a while since I read the original. What happens within is a story that continues to expand the world created in the original with cracking characters and some wonderful twists that will keep you glued from one page to another.

Add to this some great prose that works wonderfully alongside some wonderful turns of phrase all round made this a book that I had a hard time putting down. Thank you Alan for a wonderful read and I know who to blame for a sleepless night now. LOL

This second book proves that Alan Campbell has staying power. The story is enthralling, the characters believable and engaging. And the world, totally convincing. All wrapped up in some of the best prose this genre has seen in a long long time... I'm only sad that I didn't discover Mr Campbell once he'd written a couple of dozen books, so I wouldn't be waiting for the third instalment. New top five author for me.

Just spent the most wonderful week dipping my toes in and out of the Brine. Only wish I had a Replicating Sword so I could submit multiple 5 star reviews. I've loved all Alan Campbell's books so far. For imagination, prose, and sheer originality he far outstrips most writers on the planet... and any other horror laden multiverse hanging around waiting to be exploited by a fantasy author.

Bad I know but I bought this and Alan's first book based on the catchy artwork, however I was even more impressed by the excellent written work within. Immerse yourself in this unique fantasy world unlike any of the other worlds created by other such writers. Strong bold exciting writing, I just need him to get the next episode on the shelves....soon!

If you have read the books I can recommend a visit to his web site where he provides a link to an art students portfolio based on the books characters....stunning work.

NO SPOILERS.
Mr Campbell has added another excellent volume to his Gravedigger Chronicles. The skill and imagination of his makes these books a joy to read. Not the norm by any means. If you want something fresh and slightly out there, give these books a go. You will not be sorry.

After such a long wait i was worrying that this'll be a shoddy affair. Good to know that it's one of, if not the finest books he's written. Can't recommend it high enough.

One of my favorite authors, a bit hard to say he's not the best. Pure imagination running rampant, fascinating character creation, lots of different sorts of off-the-wall things going on, just wonderful. Can't be disappointed with a Campbell book, just can't. Most excellent.
