I had almost forgotten I owned this CD , until recently while looking for something entirely different, I came across this gem of cd collection. Vladimir Ashkenazy is one of the greatest pianists of our time and this collection of his piano recordings has to be one of the best performances of these pieces that there is. Recorded for Decca in 1963,1965,1975-79,1982-85, 1987,198,1990,1992 and 1999;we are treated to a sublime recording of Rachmaninov's piano concerto no 2 in its entirety, most of the other pieces are excerpts, nonetheless beautifully performed. Amazon has the full cd listing and sample audio for all tracts. This is really a great recording and one that in my opinion showcases the piano as a great instrument in the hands of a master like Ashkenazy.
