Product Description

Love can take you places you never knew existed.
Cat, Kassie, Sian and Loi are anything but damsels in distress. Bored with their current dating scene, the four women dabble in the arcane and cast a love spell to locate their soul mates. To their astonishment, they wake on another planet.
Oops…
The Arrival follows the women as they stumble through a foreign and often hostile world, where myth is reality and sword and sorcery rule. The women set forth hoping to discover a way home but instead end up fighting for their lives. Help arrives in the form of five enormous griffons and their human riders—sent by Elena, the Sorceress of Elion, who desires to meet these new arrivals. Friendships are forged and love teeters on the horizon as the women begin to find their footing in this strange new world.
But Elena is not the only Sorceress to seek them.
Far South in the realm of Vo’Arum, Jenviet DeNaga senses the arrival of the four Earth women and recognizes the potential within them. Finally, the weapons she has coveted for so long have returned to the world of Gar’nyse and now the race is on to possess them.

Books two and three of The BirthRight Trilogy, Awakening, and, Feel the Burn are now available. For further information about The BirthRight Trilogy you can follow its facebook page, or pop through to the Amazon Author page.

About the Author

Nicole MacDonald is a thirty something year old Kiwi who loves to read and moonlights as a novelist. From a young age she fantasized about being the heroine in the books and/or movies she watched and credits the series 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' for really inspiring her. Writing only occurred to her a few years ago after reading an abysmal tale with silly useless females where upon she decided to write a tale solely for herself where the girls got to kick butt without the usual sob story--betrayed/abused/abandoned etc. That little tale eventuated into the BirthRight Trilogy. Nicole's current daydream is that Joss Whedon (aka the genius of film) will discover the BirthRight Trilogy and demand the film rights to it. Until then, she's working on several other writing projects and aiming to explore the world with her fiance.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Arrival 14 Feb 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Four young women from New Zealand cast a "love spell" to find their soul mates and end up being transported to another world. An interesting start to a cracking novel.
The Arrival has good world-building and the characters actually come up with a reason they can speak with and understand the locals. The interraction and 'relationship development's' between the girls and their guides/rescuers The Griffon Guards is not too cloying and girly. People may look at the 'blurb' for the book and think it's one for the girls but trust me - it isn't.
The magic system is clever and works well and not just enough time is spent with the girls learning to harness their abilities.
The one thing that troubled me at first was the multiple PoVs but once I was into the story I hardly even noticed it and to be honest I think the style actually added to the story.
The book ended on the biggest cliffhanger ending I believe I have come across yet and I really cannot wait for the second book in the Birthright series to be published

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow 13 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really great book would highly reccomend it to everyone (all my friends are reading it too) so far i have read it 3 times and decided to review it.

1. Yes the narrotor of the story changes from the 4 main characters(Cat,Kassie,Sian and Loi) quite frequently though once you get passed the first chapter or two you can tell who is the narrator as you get to know the girls (as they all have diffrent ways of thinking and personalites)but if you ever get lost just think of the narrator as Cat as it is mostly from her POV.

2.As far as the story goes it is really good and well thought out dont want to waste it for anyone so i wont go into to much detail,i'll just say this Hot guys, magic ,Evil Beings,Dragons, elf's, bitchy ex girlfriends, twist with one of the HOT guys and of course the Griffons ;-)whats n't to love ;-)

3.I'm always reading shifter and vampire books and decided to give it a try and am very happy i did at £2.21 it's a bargin !

This book has been re-uploaded on 29/11/11 to include a map and glossary of characters. It has also been fully re-formatted and edited.

so that should also help if you get a bit lost.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fairytale for grown ups! 6 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book, i had it downloaded on my kindle for a while before getting round to reading but once you start you cant stop! i was getting up 15 minutes early for work so i could get my fix before leaving home!!!

The POV changing can be a bit confusing but once you get into it you realise that it gives you multiple characters thoughts or opinions on the same thing making it a much fuller story line. I love the way this makes the reader have to think abit to be honest, i am a very fast reader and sometimes miss bits in eagerness to find out what happens but this kind of trips you up and makes you read every part carfully! I Love it!!

It is a grown up fairytale but you feel so much part of the story that when it finished i had a genuine moment of 'oh, what do i do now?'

I would strongly recommend this book to anyone, to be honest its probably not really a guy book but girls of any age give it a go.

Thank you Nicole, you are wonderfull!!!

p.s. cant wait for the next one, i need to know what happens!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! 7 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An absolute pleasure to read ..... was totally devastated when I realised I had reached the end! Can't wait for the next instalment and hopefully won't have to wait too long for the final book. If you enjoy action, suspense and a little bit of a love story thrown together in a fantasy world then I highly recommend this book. Each unique character will draw you into their world and leave you wanting more. Once I started reading this everything else stopped! No tv, laptop or anything else till the book was finished. Even my dogs had a hard time getting me to take them out once I started reading :)

1.0 out of 5 stars Painfully full of clichés and confusingly narrated.
From the start the set up and the plot are painfully obvious, which would be just about tolerable for a sword & sorcery if it weren't for the disjointed and bland narration. Read more
