The plot is interesting, though hackneyed. Of course, the whole virgin birth and savior of the world is based on the Bible, but loads of other books use the same plot. I went through the book waiting for something more interesting to happen. Sadly, it never did.
Another thing I have against this book is its obvious male target group. Almost all the male characters, when we are first introduced to them, are engaging in some carnal knowledge. They all can fight. The female characters are all incredibly beautiful and unhealthily skinny. Who has ever heard of a healthy 110 Lb 5'8" woman?
What annoys me the most is the lack of depth to the character. They don't change and are static in their stereotypical roles. The grandparents of the Asian guy were caricature. They belonged in a cartoon.
Why am I the only one who thinks this book deserves 1 star? Everyone can't think this book is great. There should be a normal distribution on all levels of ratings; it's too skewed to one side. I checked and most of the other reviewers have written one or two reviews, and they haven't reviewed anything else in over a year. What's going on?
