Product Description

Synopsis

In 'The Animals', Garry Winogrand's photographs of people and animals at the zoo are both a humorous and sarcastic look at the human race. The animals exhibit human qualities, and when photographed in relation to people it is often hard to tell who is performing for whom.

Es un libro precioso. Hay fotografías súper poéticas, es una visión distinta de los zoológicos.

monkey magic 24 April 2006

Format: Hardcover
Winogrand has a good sense of humour and his time spent in the zoo with his kids was put to good use. Much more interesting than the airports book but for me Figments from the Real World rocks harder...It's not expensive so worth putting in the collection!

Love the photography, book itself a disappointment 8 Jan. 2014
By Kodachrome man - Published on Amazon.com

Being out of print this book has justifyably become somewhat expensive. If you are a Winogrand fan the photography is fun and wonderful. However be forewarned the paperback is very small in size, about 7 1/2 by 8 1/4 and maybe 1/4" thick.. I bought one in excellent condition for near $70 and was very disappointed when seeing how small the book was and the relatively cheap construction. I am glad I have it for the photography, but had I held it in my hand before buying would never had paid that price, and many are asking more than that.

Remarkable Book 12 Jun. 2007

A genuinely outstanding book. The photographs are so strong on so many different levels, composition, humor, remarkably catching moments that happen to be colliding in one frame. It's one of the best photography books I've come across. I wish there were more collections of his work in print. It's simply a great book.

I didn't realize how small the book was. The photographs are wonderful. I went to the Winogrand exhibit at the Met and bought this following that show.
