This is a really wonderful album created perfectly by 2 legends of Post Punk.
Who are they?
Chris Brokaw was a founding member of Codeine(Sub Pop), the band
that kicked off the Slowcore scene in the late 80s. He left Codeine to
form Come(Matador/Sub Pop) with Thalia Zedek. He now drums in The
New Year, and plays guitar for Thurston Moore, Evan Dando and a
wealth of other high achieving acts, most recently in 'Martha's
Vineyard Ferries' with Bob Weston (Shellac). He even drummed for
fecal shock'punk 'GG Allin'. Geoff Farina is best known for his 12 years
with Karate (Southern). Farina's charismatic voice, and versatile guitar
playing are also heard on a number of excellent solo albums, and as
one'half of Secret Stars, the seminal early'90s duo. He now fronts
Glorytellers and is a favourite of Swedish folk'Atheist Jose Gonzalez.
The album is an effortless work of beauty here are some quotes from press/radio to illustrate:
BBC 6Music (Tom Ravenscroft): "wonderful, wonderful, wonderful record... it's pretty enough to drive you mad"
Delusions of Adequacy: "a wholly pleasant and relaxing respite from the norm"
God Is In The TV: "laidback and beguiling... a clear product of love and passion without pretension
Sunday Times (Stewart Lee): "admirable levels of consummate artistry, good taste and obvious musical chemistry... feels like the duo just struck up in the corner at the tail end of the perfect party."
