1.0 out of 5 stars baffling, hence dull 10 July 2012
Format:Hardcover
I'm most unclear in this series wether Stableford has some philosophy he's trying to illustrate via the novels, or if they're meant to be pure fiction.

Either way the plots and exposition are both opaque and obscure.

I've now read Werewolves of London and Angel of Pain - I won't be bothering with Carnival of Destruction.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 17 Jan 2007
By B. Hodgson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Can be a bit confusing without having read the previous book in the series of 3 (Werewolves of London, Angel of Pain, Carnival of Destruction), but is full of great ideas, pleasantly flawed characters, and victorian imagery.

I didn't find the language unreadable as a teenager, and my only real criticism is that the notion of 'enlightenment through suffering' may get a bit repetative after a while.

1.0 out of 5 stars Angel of Pain 9 Sep 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Unreadable due to mundane, plodding language which failed to set a mood or tone, insufficient description, and long expository passages.
