I got 3/4 of the way through and found the book filled with typos and mistakes, corporals became colonels, US slang like 'chow' was used by the Hitler Youth, much gratuitous violence, the SS wore black uniforms after 1939. The story was too far fetched and In the end I gave up.

Fiction, Fiction, Fiction, started reasonably well then lost the plot and was totally unbelievable near the end, well near the end because evenually I decided I to read no more as I could not believe the ridiculous plot especially regarding the trapper in the hut that lived on the outskirts of Aushwitz. Reminded me of one of those American films that can change facts to make a bad film.If you decide to write a book about this sensitive subject at least make it believable.

I am unsure if this is truth or a story, but I read it quickly as I so wanted to know what happened in the end. However th ending was a disappointment

Rubbish rubbish rubbish far too short. Not enough intrigue. Far too quick to come to the conclusion. Some of the dialogue is too modern to give this woeful tale credence.

Don't read this if you are squeamish at t the descriptions of the treatment of men and women in these camps. However the description is integral to what happens as the book develops. The very end confused me a little but I intend to re-read the last chapter or two. I would commend it to anyone interested in WWII history.

A sickening and heart wrenching tale of violence at its extremity. Volumes have been written on the horrors of Nazism and sectarianism and man's propensity to kill his fellow man.
This book should be made compulsory reading for every schoolchild in the world today, in the hope that we could educate them to follow a path of tolerance for the belief and cultures of all mankind.
We, decades later, are cushioned by time from the horrors of the atrocities of Nazism, we are told that we should never let it happen again........We have let it happen again.......jihadist!
