Review

Just as early analytical competitors in the ‘small data’ era moved out ahead of their competitors and built a sizable competitive edge, the time is now for firms to seize the big data opportunity. ... an excellent review of the opportunities involved in this revolution ... The road to the Big Data Emerald City is paved with many potholes. Reading this book can help you avoid many of them, and avoid surprise when your trip is still a bit bumpy.
—From the Foreword by Thomas H. Davenport, Distinguished Professor, Babson College; Fellow, MIT Center for Digital Business; and Co-Founder, International Institute for Analytics

Product Description

Is America still the world's most celebrated and beloved superpower? Is this great nation poised for an amazing American century-or instead for a slow descent into mediocrity?

In The American Boomerang, possibly one of the most important books of our time, philosopher and author Nick Adams explores America through sympathetic Australian eyes. In this fresh look, Adams reveals the turnaround nature of Americans, or their boomerang spirit.

Optimistic while pragmatic, The American Boomerang makes the case for American exceptionalism and continued American dominance throughout this century.

It takes us from the founding to the present, sharing an inspiring vision along the way, and makes the case that American values are conservative values, and to preserve its exceptionalism, America must remain a center-right nation. Despite the prophets of gloom, in the eyes of outsider Nick Adams, America the Great will only continue to become greater.

4.0 out of 5 stars Adams reminds us WHY America is great! 22 Jan. 2014
By Martin David Hancock - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Adams reminds us once again why America is exceptional. His eyes are outside looking into America, as he calls out to anyone who will listen, God Bless America! As Vince Lombardi once said, "this is a football..." Adams says, "this is America... God, self-reliance, sovereignty in the people not the state, and the freedom to pursue happiness but not guarantee it." Read and refresh your Americanism, lest we into the slope of Fabianism (gradual slope toward socialism)

5.0 out of 5 stars This +Liberty Amendments + American Seance 1 July 2014
By katheryn Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Very inspirational book with a message of hope while most people are ignoring there is a problem or saying it is the end of the world. If you want to feel good about where we are at and the hope for the future. Then this is the book. I also liked the book The Liberty Amendments and American Séance. both gave me hope there were options to turning the country around.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books I have ever read 7 July 2014
By Richard L Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
One of the best books I have ever read, must read for Americans born after 1940. I was born in 1933 and was taught the basics in grade school. This should be required reading in every school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aussie Educates Americans about America 19 Nov. 2013
By LisaFayD - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I started reading it the other night. It made me want to stand on a mountain with my hair blowing in the wind, gazing up to heaven like a superhero. "I am an American!"

I laughed a bit when I heard him referred to as "The Modern-Day DeToqueville." It's true. He visited America, spent time with the people, and understands what makes America special.

This is a book that will remind Americans who seem to have forgotten what makes America the great hope of the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ FOR EVERY AMERICAN 10 July 2014
By James R. Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I initially saw an interview with Nick Adams on television and felt compelled to read his book. Adams is an Australian who toured America and then put his thoughts based upon his observances of America and Americans in this book. Every American should read this book. It will renew your faith in just how important America and your fellow Americas are in the world view and the example of true freedom and liberty it has set for over 200 years. It also points out the dangers of a world without America and why that can't be allowed to happen. It is truly a GREAT BOOK that everyone should encourage their children to read - give it to them as a gift.
