I dont know what these people giving 1 star are on aboot. Maybe because I heard this one before holes in the wall, but I personally think this the the best album i've heard all year. I liked them so much, that I went to see them live, and they were godamm ace! How can lose yr frown not win you over? it's gorgeous! with the organ bit in the background..oooh! Lights out not grab you? I cannot see how you fail to fall head over heels for this album. its just so familiar, but different...yeah Rock On ESP

Give it time ! 1 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I recently purchased this album and was eager to listen to it but when i first listened to it i must admit i felt a little short changed because the first impression i received was one of an album with little or no real tunes like 'Holes in the Wall' had given. But, on subsequent listens i have found this to be a towering success of a record and very rarely leaves my CD player, so congratulations to the White Brothers they have once again delivered a fine album.

Still waters run deep 20 Oct 2003
By Fedo
Format:Audio CD
I became a fan of The Electric Soft Parades first album Holes In The Wall after I saw them live last year. The new album The American Adventure however, is a huge leap forward. The White brothers have managed to hold on to their gift for melody while adding huge emotional depth. The new album is a bit less poppy than the last but with songs like The Wrongest Thing In Town and Lights Out, I think it's a price worth paying.

The title track is ESP's answer to Bohemian Rhapsody and at first I hated it ,but it's grown on me to become probably my favourite track. The overall mood of the album is gloomy but I can think of no better soundtrack to these gloomy Autumn evenings.
