The Amazing Spiderman

I have a HD6850 and the graphics are superb through it. Theres a FPS issue with some ATI cards, but a simple fix is available. The fix works completly for my machine. I'm playing this on the highest settings ans there are no FPS
or camera issues. Well made game.
Yes, the swinging mechanics can be disorienting, but that's because it's fast, there's no other way to implement the Spidey way.I think the makers have done very well with the camera, spidey can move so fast, and end upside down but the camera follows without being jerky. I found myself able to lose myself in this game. The dialogue is genuinely funny at times, and adds to the game, rather than in some games where the dialogue is just a padder.
Controls are sweet, as is leaving the game, it loads quickly as well, user friendly and convenient.

I must inform people to not listen to the last review, I'm enjoying this game. I own all the previous spidy games and I like this one the best. I use an nvidia card, the graphics are on amazing setting and runs like a dream.

This game looks amazing, the graphics are good, the area of the city is huge and the population of the city is vast, swinging around is easy and very fun, there are loads of tricks and attacks you can do plus upgrades to purchase. However BEWARE, I have a Gigabyte 2GB HD 6970, a 6 core 3.8 AM3+ ATI FX Bulldozer and 16GB of ram and this game struggles to play in medium-low graphics!!!!

Hopefully they will release a patch that fixes this...

EDIT: The performance issues with this game are only encountered if you have a ATI/AMD system, people with Nvidea should be ok. There is apparently a driver update going to be released around the 12th Spetember that will fix ATI/AMD issues. An unofficial fix that worked for me was to trick the game into thinking you have a nvidea card

It's for Fallout: New Vegas but works with Spider-Man as well. Don't use the d3d9.dll file included in the archive. Use the application to generate a new d3d9.dll file, choosing any nVidia card that is close to your real card in performance. Then you simply copy the d3d9.dll file into the game folder.

Please note that the dll file will most likely cause the launcher to crash. So you should change your game setting in the launcher BEFORE copying the file, then exit the launcher. Then start the game using Game.exe instead of the launcher.

This fixed the game for me, I can run it in full graphics now with zero lag.

Game play is O.K and it is graphically good but I can't help feeling that there is an element of a rushed release.
No real tie in with the movie other than a couple of the characters and Spidey's costume. Parts are infuriating and frustrating without an X-Box 360 style gamepad and almost impossible on just mouse and keyboard.

Before you write me off as some idiot who tried to play this on their netbook, I have a mid-range, quite powerful gaming machine, although this is besides the point. I expected to put this in, install, and play. I was wrong. It needed to be activated with Steam to be played and fully installed. At this point I realized I wouldn't have any luck with this. I entered the code on the manual which was included in my USED copy (I did know it was used). It gave me a message stating that the code was a duplicate and therefore unusable. I am very upset about this, as I can't play the game that I paid money for.

I have lenovo ideaPad Y580 laptop, the game is working with good fps, combat is simple but it looks really god. System of web swing is new and it is good. This is the best game about spidey.

This is really, really bad. The web slinging mechanics completely ruin this game. It looks okay, graphics are average. The story, dialogue, all that is pretty bad as expected. Really, if you want to play spiderman, just go play Spiderman 2 on the ps2 or something. This is a bad game, and I doubt you'll like it.
