Killer Fusion From The 80's

The Alternative Man is my favorite Bill Evans release and one of my favorite releases of all times. No smooth jazz here! There is lots of great energy. Evans tone is cutting, yet round. Chuck Loeb's guitar playing is at his tops. Let The Juice Loose is still one of my all favorite tunes with its biting melody. This album rode the crest of the electronic drum emergence in the 80's. They are used to great effect here. This album touch me so much. That I was inspired to travel from Raleigh NC to NYC. I caught Bill Evans and John Scofield at the Blue Note. I was fortunate enough to get back stage to meet Bill Evans, Chuck Loeb, Victor Bailey, John Scofield, Joe Lovano, Bill Stewart. Evans was especially friendly.
