I can learn from this book as i teach body movement. I would recommend it to other teachers as it's explained simply with lots of pictures to back it up. Although it is an old book it stills feels current.

The Alexander Principle: How to Use Your Body Without Stress

I bought this book on a recommendation from my Alexander teacher. It's written by a doctor who actually worked with Alexander in the early 1900's so has good provenance.

It wasn't the easiest read - quite technical and scientific/medical language used, although I suppose it is technically more accurate for this.

It is useful to dip in and and out of to keep refreshed of the technique.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for any one 18 Jun 2013

As a college student in the late 70s, I was exposed to the Alexander Technique in England.

This book will give any reader, whether they are in the arts or not, a clear idea of how they should respect and treat their body.

Wilfred Barlow shows factually and clinically the benefits of the Alexander Technique. As a music teacher, I apply the principles of body alignment to my students: how they are sitting; how are they holding the instrument; how can they adapt their bodies to the demands of their particular instrument.
