This is a really beautifully laid out book covering seventy years of album covers. It starts in 1940 and goes right up to the present day and includes some great early covers, some rare sleeves I'd never seen before and the more familiar ones such as Sgt Pepper and Led Zeppelin etc. I like the author's take on the covers he's selected and his anecdotes and stories about how they came about are quite enlightening and amusing. Make a great gift for someone.

This is more than just a book about Album Covers! The writer, who also designed the book, obviously loves his subject. It's full of anecdotes, information and beautiful illustrations. Not always the obvious covers featured and it's so interesting to see the history of album cover design, the who's who, and the reflections of where it's all going. It's an ideal gift for anyone, but buy one for yourself too!
