This is not from the original Alamo film soundtrack, but a new recording of Dimitri Tiomkin's complete score performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra with the Crouch End Festival Chorus in 2009. Lasting over 160 minutes, the 3 CDs include many tracks absent from the original film soundtrack LP and CD. Although you can tell the difference between this and the old soundtrack recording, it is still very close to the original. The last CD also includes alternative versions to some tracks unused in the film. The booklet accompanying the set has excellent individual notes on all of the tracks, but most disappointingly lacks stills from the film, instead having some photos of the orchestra and some inadequate artwork. However, a must for all those who love the film and Tiomkin's western film music.
