No one that has ever walked in an empty building containing mannequins after dark can do so without being just a little spooked. The art department of the college where I used to teach was on the fourth floor and my office was on the fifth. There was a mannequin in the hall of the art department that I walked by on the way to my office when I was there after hours. I was always a bit spooked and others that I talked to that had also been there after dark said the same thing and I am sure the legend of fifth floor Warde lives on.
This graphic novel is based on the "Twilight Zone" story of the same name and it is an expression of the animated mannequin "fantasy", only it is told from the perspective of the mannequin and the humans that have to try to make sense of the situation. The story takes place in a department store where unusual things happen with both the humans and the mannequins. As you go through the book, you will find yourself puzzled as to what the true situation is, there are many possible explanations of the events, yet since you are in the twilight zone, the truth is suitably bizarre. However, if you have ever walked past a mannequin after dark in a dimly lit area, even this trip to the twilight zone contains a grain of truth.
