The Adventures of Zeppi series - Fun Penguin Stories!

How it all started ...

In the middle of the night, a red truck filled with caged penguins drives through Happy Town. The truck door swings opens and a young penguin falls off the truck. At this precise moment the adventures of a brave penguin, named Zeppi begin!

Book #5 - Cackle Island

When Zeppi swims in the sea, a storm sweeps him away to an island with scary creatures.

What Readers Are Saying

  • In this 5th book in the Adventures of Zeppi series, Zeppi swims in the sea for the very first time, befriends a group of dolphins, and is washed ashore by an unexpected storm, only to end up in a strange island inhabited by strange looking-birds. Before Zeppi knows it, he's separated from Alesdor and captured by one of these two-headed birds. Will Zeppi escape and find Alesdor?
Like the earlier books, the writing is engaging and simple enough for early readers. There's a lot more adventure in this installment, though, and even a sprinkle of danger that will keep kids glued to the pages to see what will happen next. The colorful illustrations in soft pastels complement the story beautifully. Recommended.
  • I picked up this book for my daughter who is 4+ and loves bird and other animal stories. From the
moment I read it to her she was entranced. She was a bit worried for Zeppi, but was happy when everything worked out well in the end. We actually read the book several times in the same sitting. This is a testament to how much she enjoyed it.
    I recommend this book.
  • This is my first introduction to the Zeppi stories and I can say that I highly recommend this to anyone with kids who are curious about new places and and things. I loved the fact that Zeppi is a penguin with a best friend who just happens to be a human. Throw in dolphins and a nasty bird and you've got an enchanting story that is perfect for both adults and kids. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Animal Story With a Touch of Drama! 7 Feb 2013
By Wendy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A charming tale of Zeppi the little penguin and his human friend, who go for a ride in a boat and end up in all sorts of trouble! This is a children's book that adults too can enjoy. The appreciation of animals and nature is well displayed in both the story and the illustrations. The author has a vivid imagination and a sense of drama that will keep you reading until the very last page!
