From Amazon.co.uk

The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle suffers from a problem common among live-action movies that are based on beloved cartoon characters--the humans are never as flexible, unpredictable, or just plain goofy as their animated counterparts. In this blend of animation and live action, Rocky and Bullwinkle remain animated characters (trapped in our reality), while Boris and Natasha (Jason Alexander and Rene Russo), along with their boss, Fearless Leader (Robert De Niro), are transformed from cartoons to human reproductions when they escape from rerun land. They've come to our world to take it over; the FBI springs Rocky and Bullwinkle from the second dimension to stop them. But the writing in Kenneth Lonergan's script lacks the throw-away flair of the jokes that characterised Jay Ward's much-beloved animated series of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Part of the problem is that Russo, Alexander and De Niro are so obviously working at acting cartoonish, instead of simply being cartoons. And part is that the script rarely comes up with the kind of wonderful wordplay in which Ward specialised. The moose, as usual, gets all the best lines, but they're too few and far between to salvage this underachieving summer film. --Marshall Fine, Amazon.com

It was ok i guess.

The only good things were the actors which starred in it (piper perabo, robert dinero etc) and the cameos including kenan and kel.

I didnt really think the storyline was anything special and the annoying commentater, well he annoyed me to say the least.

I wont be watching it again in a hurry

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the kids 1 Feb 2009
Format:DVD
Okay, this might not be to everyone's taste but my 4-year-old loves it and I had to admit that it raised more than a few chuckles from me and I was never a fan of the "all cartoon" version, it was just too American.
This is good, clean fun which doesn't need the use of too much gray-matter. It's enjoyable and well worth the price.
You'll have to watch it more than once just to catch all the gags. Keep an eye on the background for those little touches that kids won't understand. My personal favourite is the signpost for "Crymia River".

This is a terrific family comedy! Robert DeNiro,Rene Russo, and Jason Alexander were perfect playing Fearless Leader,And Boris and Natasha. Even newcomer Piper Perbalo did a great job playing FBI agent Karen Sympathy. Yes,people critizised this movie, but who cares? DON'T BELIVE THEM! Lots of fun and tons of puns is what ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE was and is all about. This is a GREAT family treat.

4.0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise 1 Aug 2005
By Mojo Jojo - Published on Amazon.com

I wasn't expecting much from this movie. I mean, I like Rocky and Bullwinkle, but it seemed like stretching out the short cartoon to fill a whole film was a potentionally bad idea. But it turns out they managed to make something worthwhile.

It's not a laugh riot. But then again, neither was the original cartoon. What it has going for it is a lot of corny humor, a ridiculous plot, and, of course, Robert Deniro's dead on impersonation of Fearless Leader. Really, it's kind of scary how well he does it. And the entire movie could've been terrible and it still would've been worth it to watch DeNiro spoof his "Taxi Driver" role.

The movie's humor comes from its dialogue, its strange characters, its patently absurd plot twists, and of course, the trademark breaking of the fourth wall. There's even some intelligence behind this silliness, though most won't get past the puns to notice it.

Look, I liked it. I can't say much more than that. It's amusing and the animation is really quite amazing considering how bland the original was. And it's got a lot of cameos, too. Worth seeing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Is real lead balloon, Natasha. Watch old originals instead. 18 Nov 2003
By Scott MacGillivray - Published on Amazon.com
The TV show was fast, sharp, and funny, but the movie is slow, dull, and pointless. Fans may have a hard time reconciling the original cartoon characters with these pale carbons: Rocky, formerly the brains of the outfit, is now a forlorn wimp, and Bullwinkle, who used to fire off hilarious puns anytime and anywhere, now offers a few tired one-liners as tedious live-action characters monopolize the footage (the only bright spot is Robert DeNiro's Fearless Leader). This effort would almost certainly have worked better as a 100% animated feature. If you don't know the Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons you might get a few laughs out of this, but you'll wonder how the show ever got such a following. Diehard fans of "moose and squirrel" will be disappointed. Sadly, Bill Scott (the original voice of Bullwinkle and co-creator of the TV show) does not get any screen credit at all.
