She left Germany with her family in 1933 to escape from the Nazis and they arrived in England in 1936, having spent the intervening years in Switzerland and France. She is best known for her children's books, both self-illustrated picture titles such as the 17-strong Mog series and The Tiger Who Came To Tea, and novels such as When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit and The Other Way Round, which tells the story of the rise of the Nazis in 1930s Germany from a child's perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mog does it again! 1 May 2009
Both my 3-year-old daughter and I adore the Mog stories, which are just so quirky, witty, funny & insightful. Here are three delightful stories about family life seen from a cat's perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars A collection of three Mog stories in one book 7 Mar 2007
By E. A. Mullen - Published on
Containing 'Mog the forgetful cat', 'Mog and the baby', and 'Mog's Christmas' this is a great little book of stories for small people.

Judith Kerr's stories are always ones that adults enjoy reading out loud and that children love to hear again and again. Her drawings of typical family scenes are always fresh, bright, colorful, and depict facial expressions wonderfully.

Part of Mog's charm is that his character traits remain the same from story to story so each reading is like a fun visit from old friend - adored by all.
