More About the Author

I started writing children's verse when my son and daughter were very young. The Frantipede Band was the first book I tried, it was written for the children as I found that there was a lack of young children's books about music. As I also play trumpet, I wanted to make the concept of making music fun. It also introduced some musical terms.

The Erkelferkelwhatsitcrank was written so that the children could put their own imaginations to the test and draw their own creature. My children love word play, so the made up name was to test their tongue twisting abilities.

Dirty The Pig was a bedtime story that evolved with a little help from my daughter. My children particularly liked the sound effects associated with the poem and enjoyed shouting out the words at the appropriate time. I also remembered that when I was really young, my Dad told me a bedtime story about a pig that turned into a load of sausages and so Dirty the Pig was born!

My wife works at a Primary school in Year 2 (6 - 7 year olds) and has taken my books for the story time lesson. The children were really enthusiastic about the books and keep asking to see them, so I've been encouraged to continue writing and drawing.

The adventure is on in this one. Nasty Ned is trying to catch Dirty the Pig to make sausages out of him. I absolutely adore Dirty to Pig's curly tail! And, it turns out to be more than cute for Dirty....
