About the Author

Adam Greco is a longstanding member of the web analytics community who has consulted with hundreds of clients across every industry vertical. Mr. Greco began his web analytics career managing the website for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and then became one of the founders of the Omniture (now Adobe) Consulting group. While at Omniture, Mr. Greco managed accounts large and small and helped clients maximize their use of SiteCatalyst. After Adobe, Mr. Greco held the position of Director of Web Analytics at Salesforce.com where he helped re-build the entire Adobe SiteCatalyst infrastructure, turning it into a world-class program. Mr. Greco is known for his expertise in Adobe SiteCatalyst and over the years has shared this expertise through his popular "Omni Man" blog and also co-founded the award-winning Beyond Web Analytics podcast.  Mr. Greco is now a Senior Partner at Web Analytics Demystified, a leading web analytics consultancy.

If you are a regular follower of Adam's blogs, you will not find this book much exciting. However this will be a good reference book for the new SiteCatalyst analysts.

Adam Greco has always been an authority on SiteCatalyst, but what makes this book stand out is his style. Very easy to understand, very complete, very focused on accessibility (in the sense of: right, I'll try that _right now_!).

This is an excellent book on Adobe SiteCatalyst, written by one of the predominant leaders on the software, Adam Greco. If you want to understand, in depth, the technical side of SC, then this book is for you. I bought it for this very reason. However, a need did arise after purchasing the book for more in depth information/guidance on how to actually use SiteCatalyst. I would have liked the book to have covered SiteCatalyst's Reporting capabilities. Specifically, tips on reporting as well as examples (best practices) of reports people, or even Mr. Greco, have built with SC in the past.

I learn best from real world examples, use cases, etc., but will defend this book in any day of the week!

ONE of the deciding factors when I bought this book was that it was published in 2013 and most importantly, the information provided is timely and relevant to the most recent version of SiteCatalyst.

Well Done Mr. Greco!

Final advice...If you have anything to do, in any way or role whatsoever, with SiteCatalyst, BUY THIS BOOK!

15 copies bought for my company that I know of. This is the definitive text. Actually it is the only text, however this doesn't preclude it being very very good. Site Catalyst is a very large topic, probably more complex than GA by a factor of 100. It is true to say that Site Cat is intimidating to those who are not passionate about the subject and just want to answer a business question. The passage from the book that sticks in my mind day after day is "Omniture Web Analysts who understand props and evars are far further along than those that do not." Learn the language.
