The Adlard Coles log book has become my default option as a cruising recreational sailor. It is the right size - neither too big, nor too small; however the paper quality varies - some books have glossier pages than others which means the ink takes longer to dry - allowing this left hander to smudge it. Less of a navigator than Robin Knox-Johnston I over write several of the columns to record items more relevent to me - typically water temprature, no of AIS Contacts, VHF channel, engine hour reading etc. Given a clean sheet I could design a log book for my own needs but it would follow this book in overall size and concept.
