Product Description

Review

Wry observations, hypothetical situations and hilarious conversations that he's blatantly made up while pacing the floor waiting for his offspring to dull the screaming down to a level that won't crack the windows... The funniest book you'll ever read about fatherhood. (DAILY RECORD )

Good fun 29 Dec 2008
Format:Paperback
This book is good fun, especially for a new or expectant first time dad. It doesn't offer serious advice but takes a lighthearted look at a range of silly and common things about parenthood. My partner and I both read it before and again after having our first and found it even funnier the second time. Highly recommended as a gift for first time parents.

I enjoyed Jeff Green's earlier books in his A-Z series, but I was slightly disappointed with this one. This book is as funny as the others, but I'm not sure a comedian is the best person to ask for advice about prospective parenthood in all its aspects. I was surprised by the array of feelings that pregnancy induces (for the man as well as the woman). Most books for men tend to skim over the complexities and hide behind jokes. The best book for men that I've come across so far is 'From Here To Paternity (The Diary of a Pregnant Man)' which is remarkably honest as well as funny. And The Rough Guide To Pregnancy by Kaz Cooke is also forthright as well as funny about the whole experience, from a woman's point of view.
