This has got to be one of the best diet books I have ever read. It is easy to follow both in the reading sense and in the dieting sense. It isn't so much a diet as in you have to cut things out, but rather a healthy eating plan. I have been following it for nearly a week now and not only have I lost weight I feel so good within myself as well. This book also gives guidance to those who wish to gain weight or just lead a more healthy lifestyle. Oh and by the way the recipes are DELICIOUS.

The 7 day hay diet --this is a most sensible way of eating, just needs a bit of thought to start with, after that- great way of eating, and all the family can eat this way, and not know its a diet plan! good idea for those who are against diets! also you seem to be able to eat so many things you wouldn't expect to eat on a diet. Like Hash Browns! and beef stroganoff, and there's plenty snack ideas.

I purchased this book and find it to be fairly basic, the recipes are good but nothing that you couldn't come up with yourself. I liked the salad suggestions the best. Overall, I am a bit disappointed with it. It doesn't give much of an explaination of the principles behind the Hay diet.

This is one of the best books I have ever read, it has helped my health improve very positively. Before I read this book I had suffered for a long period of time with problems with my Stomach, but not any more since reading this book and living by this diet it has really improved my health and within 3 weeks I also lost 7lbs which was a bonus that I was not expecting to happen, so for those of you who need to improve your health and want to loose some weight give it ago you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. Good Luck to one and all who do decide to give it a go.

I have started to read this book and it contains a lot of useful information. It helps you to understand what food combining is all about and the day to day meal plans are a great way to start. I did this 20 years ago and then stopped. Wish I had carried on so I am now starting all over again. Would recommend this book in conjunction with the original Hay Diet book.
The sellers are very good and quick with posting thank you.

The 7 DAY HAY DIET PLAN By CAROLYN HUMPHRIES Is A 7 Day Week Daily Food Planner Or Meal Time Planner For A Lifestyle Change.
The 7 DAY HAY DIET PLAN By CAROLYN HUMPHRIES Sets Out The Rules That Go With Making Lifestyle Changes To Your Diet, In Terms Of Mixing, Matching, Harmonising And Utilising Various Food Composites And Textures Together.

The Word Diet Is A Word That Is Often Used, Abused, Misused And Misunderstood.
In This Context, The Book Title Is Misleading, As This Is Not A Book On/About Diets/Dieting/Following A Particular Diet For Weight Control.
This Book is 'A Picture Of Health' - The Nutritional Values And Beliefs Of William Howard Hay Who Was Instrumental And To This Day Controversial In The Development Of Restructuring The Food Groups In The 1920s. With That Came The Responsibility To Inform The Masses, And A New Approach To How We Consume Foods At Meal Times Was Born.
Based On 'Hay's' Findings, CAROLYN HUMPHRIES Has Put Together A 7 DAY DIET PLAN To Assist You Gain Control Of Your Dietary Intake, And Consume Foods In A More Palatable Way - A Way That Should Aid The Body To Digest Food At More Manageable Levels So As Not To Cause A Build-Up Of Toxic Overwaste Of Food In Your Body System.
This Varies Differently To Being 'On A Diet' Which Is Usually A Temporary Measure And Tends To Have Short Term Temporary Effects.

The 7 DAY HAY DIET PLAN By CAROLYN HUMPHRIES Has A Recipe Of 'Hints And Tips' For:
Breakfasts
Starters and Light Meals,
Main Meals,
Salads and Vegetables,
Snacks
Deserts.

There is a 4 Week Menu That Begins With:
A Protein Rich Breakfast,
A Mid Morning Snack,
A Neutral Lunch,
A Mid Afternoon Snack,
A Carbohydrate Rich Dinner.
This Order Varies From Day-To-Day - i.e.: The Above Was Day 1.
On Day 2 - The Order Is A Carbohydrate Rich Breakfast, A Protein Rich Lunch, A Neutral Dinner With Snacks etc, etc, etc.

The Rules Of Food Combining is stipulated in the first two chapters and is very simplistic, easy to follow and easy to read with no technical glitch, or scientific/latin names/words to try and get your 'mouth around' and 'digest' its spelling or pronunciation and therefore simplifies the Food Groups that need to be Consumed or Avoided.

My Criticism of The 7 DAY HAY DIET PLAN By CAROLYN HUMPHRIES is two-fold:
1. The Recipes are written with the assumption that we will want to cook everything and make everything from scratch/fresh - and yes - quite rightly so - given the nature of the book - but this may not be the case in all cases.
The Author does nothing to list/give any Food 'Alternatives' that can be used in the Recipes - i.e: Foods that will enhance or neutralise the taste - i.e: Are non-meat products/meat substitutes ok to use in the meat Recipes???
Although the author advocates and insists that Processed Foods are best Avoided - (I would have added 'At All Costs' {Avoid Processed Foods}), - for many people that's not an option. Let's face it, whilst we are willing to make changes to/in our Diet, there are some items on the agenda that we are not willing to give-up - for whatever reason. Therefore when writing Recipes of this calibre an 'Alternative' should always be stated - this feature would show another angle of Food Combining - especially since different countries have different Rules and names for fresh food/raw food/edible food/selling food/buying food/chemical content of Processed Food.

2. My 2nd Criticism is that the Index is not extensive enough and 'appears' to only relate to the Recipes and Recipe section of the book, and not the book as a whole, so you cannot quickly reference specific foods, and much of the Food Combining ideas require time, planning and a 'read the labels' exercise.

Thank You!
