5.0 out of 5 stars Fills the missing gaps - Fantastic book 18 July 2009
I successfully run a group of businesses but, with no formal 'education' in business management, I've always had that niggling feeling that I'm missing some key concepts and ideas that could really help me.

The book is simple and concise and covers everything in exactly the level of detail I need, to fill in those missing gaps. It offers a clear overview of each key concept and compliments the text with a number of very useful web links to further online resources - should you wish to explore a certain subject in more detail.

As I write this review, I've only just completed chapter two of the book! In these two chapters alone, the book has paid for itself #and then some# and given me enough information to take away and reassess my businesses with.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent introduction to MBA 2 Mar 2010
By ilanes
For someone with no economic/business experience, I thought he went into the perfect level of detail which I really appreciated. He didn't assume the reader has any knowledge in the areas covered, and hence was usually excellent about giving right amount of fundamental information. I also found that in general it went into an excellent amount of detail for topics I was curious about and wanted to learn more of. Moreover, there were adequate suggestions and website suggestions for further exploration. Highly recommend it and was an enjoyable read as well.
My only complaint was the significance of the boxed case studies wasn't always apparent. Could use some more integration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent summary of key areas of an MBA 4 Dec 2010
By JerryA
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is really great at summarising the key areas within an MBA. There are loads of web site references where you can get further information about a particular topic. I've just finished a Business Management Course and this book really helped to consolidate my learning. It's also written jn a very readable way so it's not a slog to complete it either. Well worth getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn as an MBA in a few hours 5 July 2010
By jebrar
I needed a book about MBA's, because it was what I was going to study and I found in this book all the essential information I was looking for. I liked the way the author talks about each subject -it's not boring- and the loads of updated info via Internet websites he gets you as well. It just takes a few hours to be read, so definitely, a book to recommend!
