written at the height of the sex pistols notoriety in 1977,this book analyses the embryonic stages of the bands' development and examines the childhood and adolescence of the individual band members, even interviewing each musicians' mother.(except sid vicious who refusedthe authors access to his)all the controversiesare covered-swearing on television, being fired from two record companies, insulting the queen and her jubilee on record.each band member is interviewed on a range of different subjects.many bit players also get their say-concert venue owners, record company personnel(including richard branson)manager malcolm mclaren, and the bands secretary-whose diary forms a sizeableproportion of the book itself.add to that thecollection of quite rare photographs and it seems that 'inside story' is not a flattering title for the book.
