Value for money: OK. Fragrance: OK. Feels good, does what it claims. It's just not that special.
The bottle has an open neck and I think it should have a splash top for convenience.
Might buy again, but I've had better.

Thayers makes a super salve for razor burn, nicks, dryness and spots. Apply it with a tissue and feel it work straight away. The blend of witch-hazel, alcohol and aloe leaves a pleasant, soothing feel and the slightly antiseptic yet not unpleasant fragrance soon dissipates. Highly Recommended.

Wanted something to take the sting out of shaving without the strong smell of aftershave lotions. Heard this was good but will let you know when I have tried it for a while. Took a long time to receive this as I think it came from overseas.

This is the best aftershave I've found. Yes, it smells a little medicinal, but that's the nature of witch hazel. Yes, it has alcohol which tightens the pores, disinfects micro-nicks, and stops any residual itching. Great stuff. I give it four stars rather than five because: (1) Thayer's won't sell a larger bottle of this stuff, and (2) there is no "miser" cap to allow pouring a small amount into the palm. The neck of the bottle is wide open. In actual use, I can't tell any difference between this product and Witch Hazel-Medicated With Aloe (Mentholated Astringent) - 11.5 oz. - Liquid, which *is* sold in a large bottle with miser cap. My recommendation is to get the product with the larger bottle, which costs considerably less per ounce. Thayer's must have a huge profit margin on this tiny bottle.

I have been using this stuff for a while now, as it's a perfect compliment to a traditional double-edged razor shave. My only complaint is that the bottle could use a better top. I made the mistake of poking out the foil cover completely, leaving the neck of the bottle wide open. This makes it hard to get the small amount you need from it. Next time I'll try poking a small hole in the foil in order to get a shaker-type opening.

I JUST WANTED TO WRITE THIS REVIEW FOR THOSE WHO ARE WORRIED ABOUT BURNING FROM ALCOHOL:

OK I wanted to try this product but i had great reservation because of the alcohol content, i do not like the burn of alcohol on my face after shaving. the odd thing is this stuff smells exactly like Everclear grain alcohol.. and i mean EXACTLY! in the ingredients the alcohol is listed as "grain alcohol". it must be very different from "sd alcohol"? (i dont really know the difference but heres my experience) As soon as i smelled this i said NO WAY am i putting that on my face! it smell like a full shot glass! anyways, long story short i paid for it and i wasnt throwing it away until i at least tried it...

I was amazed the burn was about 10% of the burn that i expected? actually it wasnt even a stinging burn.. it was really a comfortable astringent to use i dont understand how? cuz this stuff has lots of alcohol maybe its the witch hazel i dont know.. but i am glad i tried it. and i use it daily. it really does feel good. simple stuff.

and BTW opening of the bottle everyone has commented on? cmon? its not really a hindrance for me? i put about a teaspoon in my hand and splash my face? the opening is the size of a dime, are people so used to things being metered for them.. i would infer by the label that this product hasn't changed much in 50 years! it seems to have worked well so they are probably of themind to say "why change now"

and for those of you that are interesed in manufacture:

this bottle is proudly labeled "MADE IN THE USA FROM ALL US INGREDIENTS" and that makes me smile!

I decided to try this product because I wanted to get away from the high fragrant after shaves. Thayer is it! This stuff is great. Leaves the skin taut and disinfected and does NOT have a medicine smell. What a delight in place of all the other run of the mill aftershaves! Buy this and you won't be disappointed. I decided on two and Am glad I did. P.S. I put cologne on 10 minutes later and the Thayer aftershave does not collide with it. Will purchase again and this product is hard to find in brick and mortar stores. *****This is an UPDATE>>>>>> If anyone thinks this product has a medicine smell, which I do not, you can always add a couple of drops of your favorite cologne to the bottle. I ordered two bottles and just decided to 'spice' things up a little. A couple of drops does wonders just for my own customization....not because of a need to alter this product for a medicine smell. Now I have a bottle with a couple of drops of cologne and one as it arrived. I sometimes get bored. LOL. Bye.

Well, i bought this because of the reviews on it, people said it worked really well, and i didn't want to spend over 10$ on something for razor bumps. Well, i tried this product for a month. I got nothing. I didn't even feel a tingle to let me know something was happening. Im happy I only spent 4$ on this because they wouldn't let me return it. When i gave up on this product i bought Tend Skin. Its expensive but it works great. in 2 weeks my razor bumps were gone. I still use it after each shave as directed, and this one actually has directions on how to use it.. Its a great product and worth the money.
