This book will appeal to anybody who enjoys a good laugh at 'quaint' English ways. Try reading the monologues aloud, the author, Brindley Hallam Dennis, has always been enthusiastically greeted at his public performances.

It's like this, there's this guy I sort of know, strange sort of bloke really, like he's got two names you see. Well five in all if you count his Sunday names. He does a bit of writing, stories and poetry that sort of thing and do you know something? Well you'll have heard it said by writers that sometimes their characters sort of take over, have lives of their own if you catch my drift. Then there's that ventriloquist who's dummy comes to life. What was I saying ? Oh this guy I know, well it's really weird if you ask me. See, he wrote about this fictional Polish-American Guy called Kowalski and darn me if he ain't come to life too. Seems to have become more real than Brindley Hallam Dennis. Not heard of him? Why sure you have, it's that guy I know the one who writes short stories I was telling you about. He's written this book called That's what Ya get. Damn good read it is too. Get hold of a copy if you can. Winter's coming, it'll keep you warm nights -great fun.
