5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT FOLK BLUES 3 Aug 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
YES IT IS TRUE THIS CD DOES NOT CONTAIN ALL THE ORIGINAL TRACKS OF THE ALBUMS ADVERTISED BUT NEVERTHELESS THIS CD IS A GREAT BUY AND JOHN LEE HOOKER PERFORMS HIS OWN BRAND OF ACOUSTIC GUITAR BLUES AND I RATE THIS 5 OUT OF 5 FOR THAT REASON. A PURE GEM THAT WILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME IF IT HASN'T ALREADY! AS THESE ALBUMS WERE RECORDED IN 1959 AND 1960

1.0 out of 5 stars Watchout! Actually 4 songs missing 30 July 2011

This review is for "THAT'S MY STORY / THE FOLK BLUES OF JOHN LEE HOOKER 2 ALBUMS ON 1 CD" CDCHD 927 Mono, released in 1990 by Ace Records.

Be careful, the CD title is misleading. The 1 star is for the big dissapointment of expecting the full 2 records and finding out after receiving this JL Hooker CD, that it actually does not include complete versions of his 2 Riverside albums mentioned on the cover.

The 4 excluded songs are:
- "Come on and see about me" from the 1960 record "THAT'S MY STORY".
- "I'm prison bound", "Good morning little school girl" and "Behind the plow", from the 1959 record "THE FOLK BLUES OF...".
