Festive and durable cover, opens to 10 sturdy board pages in the popular 2-page spread, with a clear, easy-to-follow sentence on each, although the word,'velvety' has proved to be a little challenging, at times, in my experience!
This cute book is further enhanced by those 'touchy-feely' bits and, naturally, the repeat on the words:-
'That's not my reindeer'.
Colourfully illustrated throughout, by Rachel Wells, this book is further enhanced by a silvery touch!
Example of text:-
'That's not my reindeer.
Its body is too furry.
That's not my reindeer.
Its neck is too fuzzy.
That's not my reindeer.....
Its.........'
until the right one is eventually found!
From an adult point of view, I agree that the textured materials are maybe less innovative and the pictures less detailed, but this title remains a very popular choice for the tiniest tots, in local library group meetings.
There is still the opportunity to 'discuss' the other changes in the reindeer, count the trees and bells, look out for 'the regular' - the little white mouse (suitably attired) .......oh......and Robin......puts in an appearance, in this title, too!
Other festive titles in this series:-
That's not my Santaand my overall favourite:-
That's not my snowman
