5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best "thats not my" books 26 April 2009
Format:Board book
My little boy (9 months) loves this book, he has other books from the "thats not my" range but this is one of his favourites because all the pages have nice things to feel and he can look at the faces- we can point out eyes, nose etc on each page so it helps him pick that up too. Have found with some of the others ("thats not my car" for example,) that he gets bored and isn't drawn to the pictures as much as this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars That's Not My Monster 15 May 2006
Format:Board book
I have a 2 year old, and this is his favourite book by far. He shouts for it EVERY night and will not go to sleep until it has been read to him. He also has the 'That's not my truck' from the series which he also loves. The books have 'Touchy-feely' pages, and the best thing about them is their bright and colourful pages, containing ALL the main colours in the spectrum, which are of course helping him to learn 'his colours'. The stories are great and easy for small children to follow and there is a white mouse on every page including the front and rear covers, which children love to search for. With the 'That's not my monster' book most of the pages refer to body parts such as nose, eyes, hands, ears and eye brows etc, this helps your child to learn the parts of his or her body. Also some of the monsters have four horns or ten spikes which helps to teach your child how to count.

These books are supposed to be suitable for reading level: ages 4-8, but I say buy this as a first book. As an 18 month old toddler will soon pick up the story and be reading along with you from memory, which is going to encourage your child to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars These should be issued at the hopsital 11 Feb 2006
By Mac
Format:Board book
Any parent who hasn't discovered the Usborne touchy-feely 'That's not my X...!' series is missing out. The amount of joy my child has had from this series never fails to amaze me. These hard-back board books with (mostly!) wipe clean pages are beautifully bright and bold, as well as being incredibly robust (yes...even against teeth!). The pictures captivate children of all ages, even when very tiny. As the child grows they can begin to enjoy the story itself (a mouse searching for something she has lost)and the use of repetition and structure make these the perfect literary introduction for toddlers.
Usborne clearly made these books to last because they anticipated how long children were going to love them. I expect to see them on our shelves for a long, long time to come...

5.0 out of 5 stars Your little one will love it! 22 Oct 2010
By Zadool
Format:Board book
This one of the best 'That's not my' books. Large patches of different textures for your baby to feel (unlike some of the other books which have very small and hard to find textured patches).

It's very colourful and imaginative. A must buy, along with 'That's not my Robot'.That's Not My Robot (Usborne Touchy Feely Books)

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best in the series 26 Jun 2013
Format:Board book|Verified Purchase
Love the Monster book! I have 10 of these books, and this one (and the Robot) are mine and my 11 month old son's favourite. The moster changes on every page, nice big areas of "touchy feely" on each page, colourful and fun. If you buy only one "Thats not My" book, make sure its this one!

The colors and textures are very stimulating for my baby. The format of these books is very simple, but it is worth having 1 or 2 of them in your nursery.

Purchased 'used' book with the thought that it would be near new condition. However it had food and sticky bits on almost every page. Bit disappointing and in process of returning. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing
On the surface a great topic but the textures are too similar, bumpy and Bobby for example.
Go with the dinosaurs instead for something similar. Much more variation
