Probably the best album to come out of the age of punk. The album follows an excellent storyline, which also formed the basis of a documentary by the BBC. Even if you've never seen the documentary, you can still follow the story of the main character, from the time he wakes up in the morning, through to the car crash at the end, which more or less sums up his unpredictable, and chaotic life. The music is excellent throughout, and really is "Punk at it's best". Nobody in their right mind, could ever be disappointed with this album, it is definitely a gem.

it's a shame with all the negativity (and as i recall the loathesome 'Sham Army' at the time)about Sham. This really is a great album of its time ('78). for some reason they got tagged as a bit of a novelty band but this really is great 'concept' album. Basically a young man getting up late for work, losing his job, betting his pay off on the horses, WINNING, then out nightclubbing on the pull, then all downhill but gets home in the end. Choc full of top tunes, recommended

A classic sham 69 album. This is one of the most original punk album with the story line in between each track making it seem like the a day in the life of the average working class man. There are some real classic songs on here with the great hurry up harry and one of my favourate sham songs angels with dirty faces. Also, unlike thier first album tell us the truth, theres a mixture of music styles from the acoustic everybodys wrong everybodys right, the reggae on the pick up tracks and obviously the hard punk from the rest.

What a classic album, very well written and I like the way the album is like a story, not just because it has hit songs on it but it really is a great album, period!!!

As the heading suggests, it is a concept album made by working class boys!

Each track is linked by some wonderful conversational dialogue, which is innovative for the time. The banter and the well written tracks tell the story of the adventures of a young lad growing up, rowing with his Mum and dating girls - it's good harmless fun and quite a classic now.

There has always been more to Sham than skinheads and aggro.

This CD was bought to replace a cassette (tell your kids about them)! It is the best album (in my opinion) that Sham 69 released and I have them all. The story that plays in the background makes it even more enjoyable and took me right back to my miss-spent youth
