this is one of many in a series that is without doubt worth owning if you're into the rock & roll of the 50's & early 60's.
on this m.g.m. version, there are 30 exellent tracks. many of these have never been on cd before. some tracks of note are
andy starr - rockin' rollin' stone and conway twitty - long black train and paul davis - big money. other artists include cecil campbell
marvin rainwater,buck griffin,the berry kids,bob galloway,bernie early,rusty wellington,ron hargrove,jimmy swan,charlie & junior,
billy jack wills, frank sandy thelma blackmon & carson robison. the booklet incuded with this cd is very informative.
bear family has gone to great trouble putting together this great series. it's a little pricey, but well worth every penny.
even the label on the cd looks a lot like the m.g.m. label of the late 50's! the only thing is they use bear family instead of m.g.m. .
of all the cd's in this collection,i find that this is one of the best. you will be amazed at some of the photos included in the booklet that show you what the artist looked like back then. again...if you're into the 50's and would appreciate hearing some of the obscure songs from the m.g.m. label, then this is the cd you've been looking for!

This is one of the really good "That'll flat get it" albums. Lots of good songs and orginal recordings, from a variety of artist. Would strongly recommend adding this to your Rock-A-Billy collection. Not all of the Flat Get It's are as good as this one.
