Not the original! 29 Oct 2010
Format:Audio CD
Before buying, and I'm not here to say one way or the other, know the facts. The track listing for this complilation is very close to that of the original 33rpm record issued in the 70s. And in the same running order. Where there are differences, the missing tracks have been replaced with inferior alternatives. Those which remain from the original album are excellent (Bye, Bye Love; Born Too Late; Little Darlin'; Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, to name but a few), and for those surviving tracks I give this compilation a 3 star rating. If the original were available, I would not hesitate in recommending it and choosing that over this compilation. However, this is all we have at present, and at this price it's worth buying for the original songs which remain - and because you are buying in CD format, you can always program the CD player and miss out the ones which you really don't like. Happy listening.

Beware!!!!! This 2CD is NOT the original soundtrack to the superb 1973 That'll Be The Day film, starring David Essex, Ringo Starr etc. This is merely a collection of similar era tracks!

The tracks recorded especially for the film by the likes of Billy Fury, Vivian Stanshall, David Essex and others ARE NOT INCLUDED.

Good, but . . . 30 July 2010
By DrewRG
Format:Audio CD
OK on the face of it this looks like the old 33 that I used to have during the long hot summers of yesteryear. (if thats a word) I remember playing all though the summer of 76 - I sent the summer in Burton Bradstock (Dorset). This is NOT the same album! - Its very good however its not the orginal score from the film That Will Be The Day. (I'm sure it was a K Tel record - might be wrong here). After playing this for the first time, I kept waiting for some old favorites to come on, but they're not there! I should have read the other review and I would have known. That said, it still good music, but it not the orginal and some tracks are missing (and they have added some really bad ones too!)

I should read reviews before ordering products!

I hope this helps :o)
