Just before I sat down my thoughts on "That Awkward Moment" I saw the other reviewers were generous with their stars. And even though I feel that this comedy is much better than the recent offerings of the Hollywood in the comedy department, it is still quite a predictable film, let me explain. And I am sorry for spoilers, but I cannot really say anything about the great cinematography and/or directing and/or amazing Oscar-worthy performances... BUT I still liked the film! It's pleasant and it's funny, but it has nothing special about it.

You know how it stars. Three best buddies, Zac Efron (who I thought after being soooo good in The Paperboy [DVD] would stick to the classy films!), Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan mock that perplexing "moment" in every dating relationship when you are presented with the inevitable "So...where is this going?" (this is asked by a girl, of course).

The biggest chunk of the film is devoted to the three fellas going out and having fun and then the special girls enter and the guys want to still have fun (one of them is actually getting a divorce from his wife, whom he seems to love and wants to win back, but the other two literally forbid him).

The climax. It all gets pretty messy when the special girls realize that the guys are still fooling around (at the same time the divorcing guy realizes his beloved wife is still very much astray, even though they were trying to "work things out"). Ah you see, it's not all black and white. Guys can fall in love and stay in love, too, and the women can also cheat!

The end: romantic. It all works out. Zac Efron gets his girl, etc. Oh, and now he is asking that inevitable "So...".

P.S. There are quite a few good laughs!

Three guys vow to stay single. Jason (Zac Efron) is a NYC book cover designer who plays the field. He doesn't realize he is dating a woman until after they break up with him. Daniel (Miles Teller) works with Jason and has a friends with benefits relationship with Chelsea (Mackenzie Davis). Guess how that works out...hint it's a chick flick. Mike (Michael B. Jordan) is a doctor whose wife (Jessica Lucas) wants a divorce and is cheating on him with a lawyer. Jason meets Ellie (Imogen Poots) who is everything he wants in a woman as this throws a wrench into the "everybody stay single and play the field like we're in college" vow.

This is a chick flick poorly disguised as a guy's film. We know it is a chick flick because it is overrated due to Zac Efron being in it. It tosses some crude humor at us and some better barbs about relationships, but frankly it is the same old Hollywood schtick that brings nothing new to the table. Having said that, the actors did a fine job in their roles made unconvincing by a trite script.

Will do as a chick flick rental.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex. No nudity. Efron nearly nude.

I really enjoyed having a laugh at this film. The plot follows the normal for romance but this did not matter. I was able to relax and not think to hard.

I love this movie! At 17 years old I am the exact audience this movie set out to appeal to. Zac Efron is gorgeous as per and all of the people complaining that the movie uses Zac's looks in the movie what is the problem? I'm certainly not complaining. Michael and Miles are absolutely hilarious also. Imogen's acting skills are amazing as well. Obviously this movie is not deep and meaningful and it won't leave you with agonizing questions swirling in your head for days but it's a good, funny ,feel-good movie with an incredible cast

Awful. I wasn't expecting cinematic genius but not even Zac Efron's youthful beauty could save this film. I think the screenwriters were confused when they came up with this. I'm not even quite sure what the eponymous Awkward Moment had to do with the rest of the film. Failed to keep my interest or that of my best friend. Very, very disappointing.

Very funny, not for the queasy stomached though, lads humour, good cast, good chemistry, preferred the co stars pairing but zac efron could be the worst actor ever and I'd still.love him lol
