This volume reprints Marvel Comics' The Thanos Imperative: Ignition, The Thanos Imperative issues #1-6, and The Thanos Imperative: Devastation. This volume appears to follow on from Guardians of the Galaxy: Realm of Kings (which I haven't read). There is a `Fault' in space which is an opening to another universe, which naturally enough is bent on conquering this one. Thanos has been revived yet again in order to deal with this threat. The other universe is peopled by parallells of charcters in ours, and is controlled by their Captain Marvel, as a puppet of some sort of Lovcraftian beings. There are many battles, plots and counter-plots, as all the cosmic characters and space empires are called up to deal with the problem, while Thanos is sneaked over the border as a doomsday weapon. Although the threat is dealt with, we do get a cliffhanger ending for some of the main characters.
This is an excellent volume, with great art and story, and is a worthy addition to Marvel's ongoing cosmic serial/series.
