4.0 out of 5 stars Cosmic Marvel as we love it... 28 April 2011
By S. Bach
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This story has both got all the trademarks of a classic cosmic Marvel epic, but is at the same time modern in both picture and story. All the best galactic characters are there, and some new introductions as well. An amazing epic shared by a big bunch of great writers through five decades now, from the first time we saw Galactus and Thanos till now! It's done with respect to the existing (but rapidly changing) Marvel Universe, but I stiull can't give it 5 stars, as I would some of the Starlin Masterworks.

4.0 out of 5 stars The greatest cosmic war ever... 19 May 2012
Format:Paperback
If you've read the stories in Annihilation, Annihilation Conquest, Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, War of the Kings and Realm of the Kings, the story contiues in "The Thaos Imperative".

A great rift has been made in space, caused by the many interstellar wars. With the help of a giant fleet of templeships from "The Universial Church", the rift is opened up to another twisted universe, the Cancerverse. At the rift, all the forces our universe can ensemble fights together against an enemy greater than ever. Only a daring plan using "Thanos, The Avatar of Death" gives our universe a faint hope of survirval.

With a daring story and a great art as always, this comic book is almost perfect, and is a must if you have already read all it's predecessors. The story is concluded in this album, but a new story is started and will be continued in "Annihilators".

By Gareth Simon TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
This volume reprints Marvel Comics' The Thanos Imperative: Ignition, The Thanos Imperative issues #1-6, and The Thanos Imperative: Devastation. This volume appears to follow on from Guardians of the Galaxy: Realm of Kings (which I haven't read). There is a `Fault' in space which is an opening to another universe, which naturally enough is bent on conquering this one. Thanos has been revived yet again in order to deal with this threat. The other universe is peopled by parallells of charcters in ours, and is controlled by their Captain Marvel, as a puppet of some sort of Lovcraftian beings. There are many battles, plots and counter-plots, as all the cosmic characters and space empires are called up to deal with the problem, while Thanos is sneaked over the border as a doomsday weapon. Although the threat is dealt with, we do get a cliffhanger ending for some of the main characters.

This is an excellent volume, with great art and story, and is a worthy addition to Marvel's ongoing cosmic serial/series.
