Following the success of her first two books, "Dyeing in Plastic Bags" and "Magic Dyeing Made Easy", Helen Deighan has continued to experiment with textiles and has come up with yet another exciting, innovative way of using fabric. Making coil pots from fabric is catching on in a big way because they're fun, easy to make and just wonderful to behold. About the Author

As a professional textile artist, Helen Deighan has been making quilts since 1984. Initially working from existing patterns, she soon started developing her own designs. And, when she couldn't find the right colour or shade to fit - she dyed her own. Over the past ten years she has created many exciting dyeing effects using everyday household objects - from cat litter trays and drain pipes to her now famous plastic freezer bags! Helen's latest passion is designing and making textile coil pots.

This book has information about hand stitching the pots, but is mostly concerned with using a sewing machine. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, with the all important how to start and finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a beautiful book! 28 Oct 2005
By Bibliotek - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I saw this book while browsing in a book store and had to have it. It has beautiful illustrations and easy to understand instructions. In the instructions she encourages you to use your ideas instead of blindly following steps 1 2 3 etc. These wonderful baskets are easy and fun and limited only by your own imagination. Thanks to this book I've used my own creative ideas more than any other crafts I've done. Two thumbs up!!

Lots of innovative techniques that I am anxious to try. Gives the basket maker (I work in fabrics) freedom to try all sorts of things. Thank you!
