This is the 'bible' for anyone interested in studying translation at university or for a diploma. Peter Newmark is acknowledged as the master of translation studies and writes a monthly column in 'The Linguist' magazine. Chapters include "The analysis of a text", "The process of translation" "Translation methods", the importance of culture and grammar, and sections on different genres such as literary and technical translation.
