Cameron: Textbook of adult emergency medicine, 2nd ed.
A major postgraduate textbook in emergency medicine. A comprehensive textbook of adult emergency medicine for trainee doctors - covers all the problems likely to present to a trainee in the emergency department and all problems that are less likely to present in the emergency department. Chapters are short and concise with text boxes featuring controversial areas of treatment. I truly love this book; if emergency medicine is your interest then this book comes highly recommended.

ED Textbooks 20 July 2010
By Coggins
Format:Paperback
I'd say this book is, and is increasingly becoming a mainstay for Post-grad study of Emergency Medicine and a useful reference text for Undergraduate (especially for Resus, Suturing, Acute Medicine and Tox)

I use it for Home study and think it complements online resources such as EMRAP, EMCORE and College Websites as well as Textbooks such as OHCM and OHEM.

I'd buy this if you are thinking about doing ED in the future especially as a Registrar.

Enjoy this Excellent Text which is easier to read than Rosen or Tintinalli

Good, could be even better 25 July 2010
By DrD - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The information and the way it is delivered are excellent, except for one most annoying problem: There are cover to cover acronyms and, unless one is reading from cover to cover, one is bound to come up against an acronym which means nothing to one! (And so, presumably, to one or two, or more, others). The book is heavy (pounds weight) but would more expansive elucidation of these abbreviations be a waste of resources? If so, a glossary of these time wasting distractions needs to be appended.
Great Emergency Medicine Textbook 12 Nov 2007
By Dr. J. Wiersma - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have found this book excellent to use. It is a pretty compact book covering most areas of emergency medicine in less than 1000 pages. The only downside is that sometimes due to this the finer details are missing.... but i guess that's what those big thick reference texts are for. Also it's written by members of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine so it's great for studying for ACEM exams.
