EPIGLOTTIS
What I loved most
wasnt eyes, lips, hair
but her favourite words.
Twilight –
camping out as a kid –
& what she used 2 call me:
baboon, baboon, baboon

PALACE OF THE SNAILS
Big and stripey as boiled sweets,
crunchy underfoot on the path.
Leaving the silvery trails
of their time-lapse dances
in the moonlight.

OLD LADY EATING A FISH
A friend fish on a white tray,
no chips,
in a doorway out of the rain,
breaking bits off.
Her pink bonnet like a film star’s.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet 5 May 2006
Format:Paperback
This book is absolutely fantastic. The text message is the modern casual poem, and Wilson's lyrical words are as understated as they are elegant and profound. They remind me of Roger McGough, Philip Larkin, and even the band Death Cab for Cutie. Wonderful short observations on everyday life. A lovely book I'll re-read and will take everywhere. More please Mr Wilson!

4.0 out of 5 stars TXT ME 5 Jan 2004

What can you say in 160 characters? These poems cover pretty much everything. Life, death and in between. Intriguing, revealing. Small is very beautiful.
