Product Description
This collection is unique. It is a permanent record in English of an experiment in cultural communication - a trilingual virtual symposium lasting five months in which ten essays by internationally renowned thinkers on the impact of the Internet on texts, intellectual life, research, communication and culture were the core texts . The project
text-e was commissioned by the Centre Pompidou in Paris . The essays were discussed online in a public forum which was accessed from three continents and a dozen countries. Its success, and the wealth of ideas it brought out, signals how timely the event was and how topical are the themes around which the discussions were centred. Each one of the ten texts grapples with one of these themes and they include personal accounts, provocative predictions, and original analyses. The essays and the
text-e project, along with a selection of contributions from the online discussion, are introduced and contextualized by Gloria Origgi.
