Product Description

Teen Western based on real events in the nineteenth-century American civil war. As outlaws terrorise the increasingly lawless state of Texas, and further chaos ensues when Native Americans and immigrant Mexicans stake their claims on the land, the Governor asks Leander McNelly (Dylan McDermott) to lead a team of recruits to bring peace, law and order to the state. Lincoln Rogers Dunnison (James Van Der Beek), Randolph Douglas Scipio (Usher Raymond) and George Durham (Ashton Kutcher) leap astride their horses to take on the various bandit factions, and in particular crime kingpin John King Fisher (Alfred Molina). But does this diverse and inexperienced team have what it takes to put an end to the burning, raping and pillaging?

A relatively formulaic western dealing with the early days of the Texas Rangers, which will endear it to every fan of the genre. The acting is convincing and the characters well drawn. There is plenty of action, with many superbly photographed set pieces. I enjoyed it very much.

Good acting all around, convincible script and production, (but nothing to write home about). Plenty of action for all western buffs. A tadd too short for my liking with not enough space given to the character McNelly's past. It does tend to leave you wondering, what the.....did I miss something?, in some places as another reviewer has commented, nevertheless, mostly enjoyable.
Nice to see Randy Travis and Usher Raymond in this one.

This is a new movie about the old west in the same vein as The Young Guns led by Emilio Estevez.This bunch are led by the very excellent Dylan McDermott as a man with a past.Young Ashton Kutchner pops up as himself and does a pretty neat job as a man who can draw fast,but who cannot actually hit anything.This is brim full of what makes the West so WILD.Good movie.
