This is the second novel I've read by Kathleen Ball and I must say, she did it again. She had me falling in love along with her characters. Kathleen stirs up, in me, such raw emotions when I read her novels.

Her characters, true to life, had me crying and laughing along with them. The pain Annie goes through tugged at my heart so much, that I actually felt small aches in my own heart. And Burke...sometimes I felt like giving him a slap across the face and telling him to 'snap out of it.' But he has his own pain going on and I found myself empathizing with him as well.

But, Alice...I hated her. And, I'm sure that was Ms. Ball's intent. Alice was the perfect villainess. Kathleen Ball wrote her so well, that you have no choice but to hate her. Texas Haven didn't disappoint...Alice did have her day.

I loved this book, and I am thrilled that there will be a sequel. I was so engrossed in her little town of Texas that I didn't want to leave.

Kathleen has done it again in this beautiful tale of a sexy and confident cowboy who had me liking him from page one to loving him every page thereafter. I like a strong man, especially a sexy cowboy hiding a gentle side beneath a rough exterior. He knows what he wants and goes after it, even if not always at the right moment. When Burke meets Annie, she draws so much out of him and watching their relationship unfold was spectacular. The author wove a superbly well-written, hold your breath, page-turner and it was very hard to stop reading. Chock full of emotions and conflict that had me talking out loud to the book, is definitely a keeper for me. This has got to be my favorite of this author's yet. She has quite the imagination and handles secondary characters exceptionally well! A touching and memorable read and I will definitely be back for the next installment in this series.
