Product Description

The Riva eVent is a durable and supportive hiking shoe that can handle any task. The Vibram outsole ensures that you'll always have traction, while the eVent waterproof membrane keeps your feet dry and comfortable

Product Description

The Teva Riva eVent Waterproof walking shoes feature a breathable eVent waterproof membrane, which works with the gusseted tongue and waterproof nubuck suede upper to keep your feet superbly dry and comfortable. The Vibram outsole underfoot also helps to ensure you stay sure-footed on tricky terrain, with superb grip and durability which will help take down almost any mountain path. Enhanced comfort comes in the form of a Mush Infused Insole, a technology inspired by the superb comfort of Teva's Sandal range, to give you optimal comfort underfoot in each step. The outsole also features an aggressive lug pattern for improved grip and traction over all terrain, helping prevent slippage and discomfort. Under the heel you'll also find Shoc Pad cushioning which helps to greatly absorb shock impact upon heel-strike and help deliver a smooth heel to forefoot transition. Ideal for use on the trickiest of terrain, the Teva Riva is a solid performer and a great choice for tackling the light day excursion and mountain paths alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars A light hikers dream 23 Mar 2011

Love these shoes. They have a wide toe box and narrow heal--perfect for me. I took out the sole and put in a pair of Superfeet. Work great together. I've done several 15-milers and now problem. I liked them so much, I bought another pair to walk 700 miles of the Camino de Santiago this summer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Teva waterproof E-vent shoes 4 Feb 2013

Very comfortable right out of the box and they look great. A little on the warm side which is not unusual for a waterproof shoe. If you want cool/breezy shoes then opt for the non-waterproof version- they fit the same, breathe better, have the same sole but look less stylish (nylon mesh). Although they are marketed as hiking shoes I think the suede would get thrashed on a trail. I use these around town when it is wet out. Excellent traction. Great shoe.

4.0 out of 5 stars not good for Hot Weather - event waterproof does not allow feet to breath easily 1 Mar 2013
By e - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name:11 UK| Size Name:11 UK|Verified Purchase
I bought this pair of Teva's and thought the waterproof event system would allow my feet to breath easily.. but my feet felt like
they were inside a plastic bag. So if you live in a warm climate like southern california, arizona, etc... i would not recommend these shoes unless you dont sweat very much when you hike. Otherwise they are probably one of the best hiking shoes i have had in a long time. The soles are durable and grip fantastic, the vibram and cushion sole system is superb and after 10 miles hiking it was super comfortable and the front toe rubber is very solid.

I opted to return them for the Teva Riva MESH shoes that dont have the event waterproof system inside ....and will post a review once i get those. But for someone that lives in rainy areas, or cold areas, surely the event system might be best but not for warm areas or even slightly warm as i tried both thin wool, cotton and performance socks and i sweated too much to keep them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great looking low-cut boot 11 Oct 2012
By Sledman - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name:8 UK| Size Name:8 UK|Verified Purchase
I ordered these boots after reading the reviews and comparing them to similar styles by other manufacturers. The first thing that caught my eye was the look. These boots look even better in person then in the photos. They are all leather/suede with a sturdy rubber toe cover. The Vibram soles have a great tread that gives you a feeling of confidence on slippery trials. Even brand new they feel broken in, like a trusted pair of weathered boots.

Actual Use:

My first hike in these was a local North Georgia trail called Raven Cliffs, about 7 miles total with a few steep inclines (treacherous at the end) and lots of wet areas. It had rained a day before our hike and light rain during the hike so the ground was moist and in some areas muddy. These boots performed great, kept me on the trail and kept my feet comfortable the whole time. I spent some time in a stream to take a few pictures and can testify that they are indeed waterproof. Almost fully submerged (over the tongue) for about 10 minutes not a drop of water got in the shoe. They also come pre treated with Scotch-Guard which was noticeable as the water rolled right off. Also the Vibram soles lived up to there reputation. They had good grip in the mud and were stable on wet rocks and branches. I had no issues with sweaty feet at all so that speaks for the breathability of the shoes (I normally sweat in sneakers/shoes). I did have some rubbing on the back ankle of my right foot. This could be part of breaking them in however I also wasn't wearing the proper socks for the hike. Subsequent hikes (in proper socks) felt no rubbing at all.

On The Street:

After the hike we walked around the local town (Helen) for a bit and the boots performed well on flat pavement. No slipping or cramping and because of the looks/style of the boot, they fit right in everywhere I went (they don't scream HIKING BOOTS!)

Overall I am extremely satisfied with these boots and hope they continue making them for years to come. They are so comfortable and look so good I want to wear them as my daily shoe, but will restrain and use them just for hikes. The fit and finish on them is superb and they look much more expensive then they are. If you want a low-cut hiking boot that feels great, performs admirably and looks fantastic then these are the boots for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love these shoes 17 Mar 2012
By Kentscroggs - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name:Beluga| Size Name:11 UK|Verified Purchase
The pair of Teva Events I bought over Amazon is my second pair of these shoes. I am still wearing my first pair almost every day but I wanted to get a second pair now rather than wait for the first to wear out because these are the best shoes I have ever worn. They are extremely comfortable, providing lots of good support for my arches, but the reason I love them the most is because they keep my feet warm even in pretty cold weather. Cold feet has been a big issue for me for a long time (I am 60 years old next month) with most shoes especially in cold weather but sometimes even in more moderate weather, but not with these shoes. I also like the fact that they do no necessarily look like hiking shoes. I can wear them with every day casual wear with no problem. And yes, they work great for hiking too.
