LRB has been one of my favorite bands. Through all of their mutations, they've managed to retain their impeccable harmonies and tasteful melodies and musicianship.
This 2005 collection isn't THE NET or NO REINS, but I found it extremely listenable. LRB staples Wayne Nelson and Stevie Housden are still much in evidence and the new members acquit themselves just fine. In this decade of rap/hip-hop/teen fluff, I enjoy this reminder of good pop music. Long may this river run.
there are some good harmonies here 24 Sep 2014

Too many original members not on this effort, there are some good harmonies here, but their 1990 3fort get lucky was much better.

"Test of Patience" would be a more appropriate title 25 May 2006

Don't be fooled by the name of the band. This is a latter-day cover band that inherited the name from the founders and innovators of Little River Band. The current incarnation includes no original members, and none of the voices and songwriters responsible for their numerous hits and classics. The mediocrity on this album discredits the name, the reputation and the legacy of one of the classiest bands of the past thirty years. Do yourself a favour and seek out the extensive catalog of the ORIGINAL members. Better yet, check out "Full Circle": the recent DVD and CD by Birtles Shorrock Goble ("BSG"), the original singers and songwriters of Little River Band.

Don't buy this - total garbage..... 21 April 2013

Don't be fooled into buying this CD - its total garbage. Its not the Little River Band that recorded all the hits in the 70's and 80's but a recent wanna-be LRB lineup......There really isn't one catchy track on this entire CD. If the CD accomplishes anything its the tarnishing of LRB's legacy.......

A landmark album from one of LRB's finest lineups 31 Dec 2005
By Shane Sullivan - Published on
Format: Audio CD
On "The Test Of Time", LRB covers a lot of musical ground. Overall, the record is rootsier and rawer than most previous LRB releases. There are a number of country influenced songs, a cover of Cold Chisel's "Forever Now" in the cool, jazzy style of the 2000 version of Night Owls, some very catchy AC pop songs, and a couple great ballads. The album deserves many listens from start to finish. Every song tells a story. This is a very enjoyable album that shows a band that is genuinely demonstrating growth with each new song they write, perform and record. Wayne Nelson's production is, as always, brilliant.
