Great little book for those wanting to know what a teacher does. My 7 year old wants to be a teacher when she grows up so she has always loved this book. Would be an ideal book for little ones about start school.

Good, but....

...my husband and I agree that this is our least-favorite of the series. The plot mostly goes over our three-year-old's head, I think. (It's about how the class is putting on a play but the kid who's supposed to play the crocodile gets sick.) Also, there don't seem to be as many interesting details about the teachers and school. Which is interesting because most kids have a lot of experience with school, and would probably like to see that mirrored in the book. Love the fimo clay illustrations.

Kids love the learning about a "day in the life" of a teacher. There are multicultural characters throughout each title of the Jobs People Do. There are books for the doctor, farmer, firefighter, chef and the vet. Collect them all suesbooks.info. It makes a great teaching series and parents can come in to talk about what they do for a living. It makes a great present for a pre-school teacher.
